I am writing to ye: about the c.se of rs. Tinson, of whom I spoke recently with Inser by telephone,

2. As I mentioned in my letter to Ely of the 15th June, we took the case up again with the Governor of Hong Kong mentioning that the inistry's award would be ter inatel, and I do not think that I can do better then to let you have a copy of a telegram which wo have received from him.

8. Tinson should be reconsidered, on the grounus that the Hong hong award is not sa award under a Personal Injuries Scheme but rather a relief grant.

As you know there is in Malaya a re.sonel Injuries (Civilians) scheme which makes provision for pensions at specified ratus for certain categories of persons who suffered disablement, or to the dependents of those who died, as a result of a war service

injury. In Malaya persons in these categories may claim a pension as of right. Expenditure is a direct charge on the funds of the local Governments.
